Now Available: Update v2.3 for Hulu Plus on iOS (Original)
Today we released version 2.3 of our Hulu Plus iOS application in the Apple App Store.
Some noticeable changes in Version 2.3:
- - Search results are now organized into tabs, which are easier to review
- - There is a dedicated button on the Movies menu for our popular and growing Criterion movie collection
Additionally, we made a number of changes under the hood to improve performance and video playback for both the iPhone and the iPad. This included fixing an issue with the resume functionality, which was affecting a small number of users.
If you’re an existing Hulu Plus subscriber with an iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad, please download or update the app and try it out. Thanks for your continued support.

Now Available: Update v1.03 for Hulu Plus on PS3 (Original)
On Tuesday we released the latest version of Hulu Plus for the PlayStation®3. The update continues to make improvements to the playback experience, addressing issues such as skipping or stalls. Valuable user feedback was critical in being able to isolate and resolve the issues.
The update (v1.03) will install the next time you launch the Hulu Plus app on PS3. We hope this helps you enjoy your favorites that much more. Let us know what you think!
Senior Development Lead, Hulu
To those who are still experiencing playback issues, I’m very sorry about the frustration you’ve been having with the Hulu Plus app on your PS3. Our developers are aware of these issues and are hard at work on an update that should address them as soon as possible. These issues are complex, so I can’t give a timetable on when we’ll see an update released.
Try the steps listed on this article. If these don’t help, please contact the Hulu Support team, there may be something we can do for you. Once again, I’m sorry about the frustration and we appreciate you bearing with us.

We just completed the first quarter of 2011. Given the ongoing discussion around the evolution of premium content distribution — and Hulu’s role in it — we thought it would be worthwhile to share some of our progress from the first 90 days of 2011:
- - We are on pace to approach half a billion dollars in revenue in 2011. In Q1, our revenue grew approximately 90 percent over Q1 2010. (Hulu did $263 million in revenue for all of 2010).
- - The content community will earn approximately $300 million through Hulu over the course of 2011. As a young company (we just reached our third anniversary since the public launch of Hulu.com), we’re excited about that number and we also expect it to grow aggressively in the years to come.
- - We served approximately 50 percent more advertisers in Q1 2011 than we did in Q1 2010 (specifically, 289 advertisers in Q1 2011, up from 194 in Q1 2010).
- - We grew the number of content partners to Hulu Plus and Hulu from 211 in Q1 2010 to 264 in Q1 2011, including brands from the Viacom family (MTV, Comedy Central, VH1, BET, and more).
Hulu Pranks: The Joke’s on Who? (Original)
Hulu has been getting a lot of attention for its pranks recently. We even let you in on our last one. But one in-office prank this year took April Fools Day to a new level—and maybe a higher level of consciousness. We thought we should let you know about it. – Ed.
VP of Distribution Pete Distad is known for many things: his ability to manage the complexities of business negotiations, his down-to-earth sensibilities, and his terrific sense of humor. Sadly, the one thing he’s terrible at is following through on performing pranks. As seen in the recent Hulu blog post regarding our history, Pete claimed “This year, the joke’s on them.” But April Fool’s Day has come and gone, and Pete has made no attempt to prank those of us who, year after year, convert his desk into any number of ridiculous settings (golf course, tin-foil palace, kid’s balloon party).
So this year, we decided to raise the bar a bit and see what new and interesting things we could do to Pete’s desk. One challenge, however, was that he, like the rest of our executive staff, no longer work in offices. Virtually everyone at Hulu now resides in open-space cubes.…
Check It Out! Hulu.com Gets an Upgrade (Original)
While we’re all reeling from the news of banks charging fees on ATM withdrawals — what next, mobile phones that connect to the World Wide Web?!? — there’s some good news. “The Morning After” revealed this morning that Michael Jordan is launching a new cologne and actor Jon Voight’s daughter, Angelina Jolie, married “Hackers” star Johnny Lee Miller (you go, girl!) last weekend.
While all that was going down, the Hulu team was hard at work implementing some new features to the http://www.hulu.com home page. While we’re still working on our GeoCities fan page, we just implemented a new visitor counter and, even cooler, a guest book for you to leave your comments. As always, these features are best seen on Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer with your resolution set at 1024×768.
Check it out and let us know what you think!
